no one really knows why poland was chosen...
so we have four teams for next year, as justyna already said... and i dont think a 5th will follow...
But to be honest, who the heck will care much about GP anyway if the OG will follow soon after :wink2:

ı will :) :) because turkey will participate in WGP for the first time and ı want to know every step our girls will take in this competition.

i didnt mean the fans...
i meant the countries which will participate in the GP aswell as in the OG...
well, of course we have to find out who will qualify for the OG in Beijing :wink2:

Thanks for the info, Justyna!

As regards the OG, in November we'll know the first three teams that will join China as well as the ranking FIVB will use to set the pools of the OG. (The ranking the FIVB will use is the 2007 ranking, updated with the Continental Championships and World Cup results).

It is normally like this:

Pool A
Host Country
3rd best ranked team among the teams that qualified
4th best ranked team among the teams that qualified
7th best ranked team among the teams that qualified
8th bext ranked team among the teams that qualified
11th best ranked team among the teams that qualified

Pool B
1st best ranked team among the teams that qualified
2nd best ranked team among the teams that qualified
5th best ranked team among the teams that qualified
6th best ranked team among the teams that qualified
9th best ranked team among the teams that qualified
10th best ranked team among the teams that qualified

We'll be able to have an idea of how the pools will be after that!

Well, taking into account the formula of setting pools of OG, I tried to predict teams which'll play in pool A and B. Regrding rankings after WC (I didn't count points for WGP 2008) and winners of continent qualifications and last qualification in may in Japan. If it goes logically without surprises (like Holland winning WGP and Germany qualififed for OG 2004 in Baku).

My predictions are as follows: three teams from WC are Brazil, Italy and Cuba. From continent qualification: Europe - Russia, South America - Peru, North America - USA, Africa - Kenya.
From last qualification: Poland, Serbia, Japan and Korea.
So, we'll have:

Pool A
China
Cuba
Russia
Japan
Poland
Kenya

Pool B
Brazil
Italy
Serbia
USA
Korea
Peru

I know that it's early to speak about such things. Teams may be in different conditions and squads, everything may happen. But I tried to reflect upon logic.

So, what do you guys think, what are your predictions?
