In pool F, the newcomer ACH Volley BLED, Slovenian champion, the last winner of the 2006/07 Top Teams Cup signed a real surprise beating in two hours the Belgium team, Noliko MAASEIK. This experimented Champions League team started the first set with an advantage, thanks to the high Dutch player, Kay van Dijk, 214 cm. But in front of numerous cheering fans, and thanks to the heroes of the match, Tine Urnaut and Jasmin Cuturic, ACH Volley BLED won the three following sets in an exciting volleyball show. Tine Urnaut, best scorer with 21 points, confirmed “Our defense was much better in the third and fourth sets and we did not allow Noliko to develop its game”
In the same pool, the Russian club of Dinamo Moscow concluded its first match with a tough victory against Paris Volley 3-2 (24-26, 25-20, 25-21, 19-25, 8-15). The Russian club, coached by Daniele Bagnoli, coach of Sisley Treviso last season, push the opponent team with success till the end of the match and remained before the players of Paris Volley and their blockers Victor Rivera and Jiri Novak. It was a very tight match, as confirmed by Mauricio Motta Paes, head coach of the French, “It was absolutely necessary to remain focused because Dinamo Moscou could win the match at any moment despite our hard opposition, and they finally proved it”.

PARIS Volley remains without a victory. The Slovenian ACH Volley beat Paris Volley 3:2 (25:21, 23:25, 25:20, 15:13) for their second match disputed in Ljubljana. The winner of the Champions' League in 2001, Paris Volley, had a good start against the Slovenian champions but after a tie at 15:15, the French team made three mistakes, marking the crucial moment of the first set, which finished 25:21 for ACH Volley. The team from Slovenia also played well in the second set, leading already 16:12 but then the great Czech player Jiri Novak served for Paris Volley and brought his team back in the game. 3500 spectators saw a really exciting finish of the match when Cuturic served well and gave the victory to his team winning the fifth set 15-13.

In the pool F, defeated 3-2 by the Slovenian team last Wednesday in Ljubljana, PARIS Volley was off to a quick start and won the first set 25-14. In the second set, ACH Volley played better and better. However, local hitters Jiri NOVAK and Victor RIVERA concluded some spectacular exchanges at the net. For ACH Volley, perfect reception by Sebastijan SKORC who played for PARIS Volley 2 years ago, and the effective kills of Mitja GASPARINI, saw the guests taking the lead by 8 points and winning the second set 25-11. This important victory was confirmed by PARIS Volley coach Mauricio MOTTA PAES "It was necessary to win and to keep a little chance for qualification for play-offs".
